Job Description

Senior Producer – The News Agents

At Global, we think big, work hard, and never stand still. We’re the proud home of the best media and entertainment brands on the planet, driven by our talented and passionate people. Our mission? To make everyone’s day brighter - our Globallers, our audiences, our partners, and our communities. Whether we’re in the studio, building world-class technology, or securing record Outdoor advertising partnerships, we make sure we’re doing it as a team.

Your Role: Senior Producer – The News Agents

Reporting to the Editor and working closely with the Executive Producer, you will help deliver one of the UK’s most distinctive and fast-paced daily news podcasts. This is a hands-on senior production role, combining sharp editorial judgement, excellent production skills and the confidence to make decisions in a demanding news environment.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Producer – The News Agents at Global, you will:

  • Shape daily editorial output: Generate story ideas, research and develop strong angles on the biggest stories, working closely with presenters and the Executive Producer to create timely, distinctive episodes.
  • Lead episode production: Take a senior role in scripting, running orders, guest booking, briefing and production. Lead selected episodes from planning and recording through to edit and publication.
  • Deliver across platforms: Work with video and social producers to adapt editorial content for audio, digital, video and social channels, ensuring output is compelling and consistent.
  • Maintain high standards: Help uphold editorial, legal and compliance standards across all output, with close attention to accuracy, fairness and risk.
  • Develop the brand: Contribute to special episodes, series, new show launches and ideas that support audience growth, engagement and the long-term editorial direction of The News Agents.
  • Support outside broadcasts: Play a leading role in planning and delivering on-location recordings, interviews and events, working with editorial, technical and operations teams to ensure smooth, high-quality delivery.
  • Provide senior support: Deputise for the Executive Producer when needed and offer reliable day-to-day support to presenters and the wider production team.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
