About the Role
This senior leadership position carries substantial accountability for the delivery and optimisation of a significant portion of Anglian Water’s investment portfolio, totalling approximately £11 billion. The Senior Portfolio Manager will ensure the portfolio meets its intended strategic outcomes, efficiency, and performance targets. The portfolios which this role will be responsible for are within our Water Recycling Business unit with an annual budget of circa £500m.
The role demands exceptional leadership, strategic acumen, and a collaborative approach to deliver maximum value and influence business direction. Accountability spans risk-based decision-making, portfolio innovation, and alignment with strategic objectives. This role requires forward-thinking leadership to evolve delivery practices and foster partnerships that optimise results for stakeholders.

Responsibilities
- Applying health, safety and regulatory expertise.
- Delivering quality outcomes across the project lifecycle.
- Managing programmes, budgets, risks and key milestones.
- Directing collaborative teams to achieve client objectives and KPIs.
- Driving innovation, accountability and sustainable business growth.
Requirements
- Extensive proven experience in a project/programme/portfolio delivery leadership role, leading the delivery of large projects and programmes in a complex environment on the client side.
- Programme management qualification or equivalent.
- Educated to degree level with appropriate technical qualification or equivalent experience.
- Significant experience in issue resolution and risk management.
- Significant experience in leadership, change management and influencing across multiple functions with a demonstrated success in developing and advancing processes.
- Proven understanding of the Water/Water Recycling processes or transferable skill set.
