📍 UK | Denmark | Belgium

Are you passionate about shaping the future of Europe's energy markets? We're seeking a Senior Portfolio Manager to drive the growth and optimisation of renewable energy and battery storage portfolios across Europe. This role sits at the heart of commercial strategy, energy trading, and portfolio management, helping to deliver profitable long-term asset partnerships while supporting the transition to a more sustainable energy system.

About the Role

As a Senior Portfolio Manager, you will be responsible for managing and optimising a portfolio of renewable generation and battery storage assets across European power markets. Working closely with Origination, Trading, Risk, and Operations teams, you will evaluate new opportunities, structure and price commercial agreements, manage portfolio risks, and maximise long-term value creation.

This role offers a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of Europe's energy transition, helping to develop innovative renewable energy and battery storage solutions while supporting the growth of a leading asset optimisation business.

Key Responsibilities

Portfolio Management & Commercial Optimisation

  • Manage a portfolio of long-term trading agreements covering wind, solar, and battery storage assets.
  • Assess and evaluate new PPAs, route-to-market agreements, and optimisation contracts to determine commercial attractiveness and profitability.
  • Structure and price long-term offtake agreements for renewable and flexible assets.
  • Develop robust valuation and pricing methodologies for renewable generation and battery storage assets.
  • Partner closely with Origination teams to support commercial negotiations through data-driven pricing and portfolio analysis.
  • Collaborate with Trading teams to develop effective hedging and optimisation strategies.
  • Monitor and manage portfolio exposures, including market, volume, imbalance, and operational risks.
  • Analyse power market fundamentals including forward power prices, capture prices, generation forecasts, balancing costs, and ancillary service revenues.
  • Support the development of new product offerings, contract structures, and commercial solutions for renewable and flexible assets.
  • Identify and assess opportunities in new European markets and contribute to market expansion strategies.
  • Ensure seamless onboarding and integration of new asset agreements into trading systems, operational processes, and risk management frameworks.
  • Provide commercial recommendations and portfolio insights to senior stakeholders.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
