📅Here's The Exciting Bit… A Day Includes

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Power BI Developer to act as our technical authority for Power BI and help shape the future of our reporting and analytics platform.

Combining hands-on development with technical leadership, you’ll design scalable, secure and high-performing Power BI solutions while setting development standards and strengthening platform governance. You’ll also mentor other BI Developers, conduct code reviews and promote best practice across the team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Power BI specialist who enjoys solving complex problems, influencing technical decisions and helping others develop.

📝Key Responsibilities

  • Acting as the organisation’s subject matter expert for Power BI.
  • Designing, developing, testing and deploying enterprise-level dashboards, reports, semantic models and KPIs.
  • Creating and optimising complex DAX calculations, Power Query transformations and data models.
  • Establishing development standards, governance processes and best practices.
  • Improving report performance, dataset efficiency and platform reliability.
  • Implementing row-level security and appropriate data-security controls.
  • Managing Power BI workspaces, deployment pipelines and release processes.
  • Working with Data Engineers, Architects and business stakeholders to deliver trusted analytics solutions.
  • Translating complex business requirements into practical reporting and analytical solutions.
  • Supporting the development of self-service analytics.
  • Mentoring BI Developers and providing guidance on Power BI, DAX, data modelling and development standards.
  • Conducting code reviews and quality-assurance activities.
  • Communicating technical recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

What You’ll Need

  • Extensive commercial experience developing Power BI solutions within a complex enterprise environment.
  • Expert knowledge of Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.
  • Advanced experience with DAX, Power Query and SQL.
  • Strong knowledge of dimensional modelling, star-schema design and semantic models.
  • Experience with Power BI administration, workspace management, dataflows and deployment pipelines.
  • Experience working with cloud and on-premise data sources.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, Azure Data Services and Azure Data Factory.
  • Proven experience mentoring or technically leading BI Developers.
  • Experience establishing development standards and governance processes.
  • Strong stakeholder-management, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to influence technical decisions without relying on direct management authority.
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric and/or Synapse Analytics would be advantageous.
