About The Role
GE Vernova in Edinburgh is seeking a highly skilled Power Systems Engineer to join our dynamic Innovation Hub. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge Wide Area Monitoring and Control products, contributing significantly to research, design, and consultancy projects aimed at enhancing utility-scale power systems. As part of our team, you will play a vital role in developing innovative solutions that improve grid reliability, stability, and efficiency. The position involves engaging with complex power system challenges, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and providing expert insights to shape the future of energy management. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a BEng in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field, with a strong foundation in power systems. Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is essential for effective communication within the team and with clients. Responsibilities
As a Power Systems Engineer, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Designing, analyzing, and implementing Wide Area Monitoring and Control solutions for large-scale power systems.
- Conducting research to identify innovative approaches and develop new methodologies to enhance grid stability and security.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to contribute to the development of advanced software tools and hardware solutions.
- Providing technical consultancy to clients, supporting project deployment and troubleshooting.
- Involved in testing and validating new products.
- Documenting technical specifications.
- Ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Maintaining strong communication channels with stakeholders and team members.
- Travel up to 25% to client sites and project locations.
