About Us…
McCann Manchester is officially the UK’s most awarded agency for marketing effectiveness: empowering challenger brands to realise their full growth potential.
We accelerate growth by helping brands to shine brighter in the lives of consumers: focusing on pioneering methods to integrate brand experience design and activation to deliver competitive advantage with distinction.
We operate as part of the wider McCann Manchester team and are home to the best talent across: data and analytics, integrated marketing strategy, paid search, digital PR and content, customer experience design, TV, radio, display and social media planning and buying.
The Part You’ll Play…
We're looking for a Senior PPC Executive to join our Media team at McCann Manchester. Working closely with our PPC managers and team, you'll play a key role in delivering our media offering to new and existing clients, helping their businesses grow through smart, insight-led paid search strategy.
You'll be part of a structured, highly creative media team providing PPC solutions that truly move the needle for our clients. You'll build strong relationships with client contacts and platform partners, collaborate across the wider agency, and take ownership of delivering successful PPC plans that keep accounts running smoothly and profitably.
Key Responsibilities
- Stay ahead of the paid search landscape - platform updates, new ad formats and automation capabilities - to champion best-in-class PPC.
- Campaign builds and optimisations in platform.
- Identify client business problems that PPC can solve and lead comprehensive PPC audits for existing accounts and new business pitches.
- Build strong client relationships, tracking business and sector changes that impact PPC strategy and performance.
- Lead the development of PPC campaign strategies, grounded in audience insight and business objectives, that integrate with the wider media plan.
- Act as the planning bridge between overall media strategy and PPC activation.
- Lead conversations with platform partners and provide informed points of view on PPC campaign decisions.
- Manage PPC campaign budgets, ensuring efficient allocation, adherence to spend targets and accurate billing.
- Demonstrate expert use of core PPC platforms (e.g. Google Ads and Microsoft Ads).
- Support the PPC team across all phases of strategy development, from brief to ongoing optimisation.
- Build relationships across the wider McCann network (Client Leadership, Marketing Science, SEO) to set PPC up for success.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
