The level we’re hiring at

You’ll be the final word on paid strategy across the whole client portfolio, and performance accountability stops with you: when a client asks why cost per lead moved, you’re the one with the answer, and when an account underperforms, you own the diagnosis and the fix. Nobody will be checking your work. The MD and the clients will be relying on your judgement.

If you’re an executor who works best being handed a strategy, this isn’t the role. This one is for someone who’s been trusted with real budgets, real client relationships, and real consequences, and wants more of all three.

What you’ll own

  • Paid strategy across the portfolio: account architecture, bidding strategy, budget allocation, and the full conversion journey from auction to lead, across Google Ads and Meta
  • Client relationships at senior level: leading strategy calls and quarterly reviews, defending decisions with data, having the honest conversation when something isn’t working, and being the reason clients renew
  • Commercial performance of the paid media book: retention and growth of paid retainers is a number you’ll carry, not just campaign metrics
  • The technical layer, end to end: you own measurement, not just media. If tracking is broken, attribution is lying, or a form isn’t firing, you find it and fix it
  • Developing our PPC team: reviewing work, raising standards, and mentoring our PPC specialist and, in time, a junior executive
  • The function itself: tooling, reporting, processes, and how paid media works here as we scale, including feeding audits and growth plans into new business

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Technical requirements

This is a technical role and we’ll test for it. You should be genuinely strong on:

  • Google Ads: search, Performance Max, and lead-gen account structures; tROAS/tCPA and value-based bidding; experiments and drafts; search-term and n-gram analysis; negative keyword architecture; ad strength vs actual performance
  • Meta Ads: full-funnel lead generation campaigns, pixel and Conversions API setup, audience strategy, and creative testing frameworks
  • Measurement: GA4 (events, conversions, attribution settings), Google Tag Manager (triggers, variables, dataLayer, debugging), consent mode, and offline/enhanced conversion imports
  • WordPress: comfortable working directly on client sites, implementing tracking, editing landing pages, and diagnosing where the site (not the ads) is killing conversion
  • Call and lead tracking: platforms like WhatConverts (our stack), CallRail, or similar, and connecting lead quality back to campaigns

What we’re looking for

  • 5+ years hands-on paid media, including at least 2 years owning strategy without someone above you setting it
  • You’ve personally managed meaningful monthly budgets across a multi-client portfolio, and can talk in detail about accounts you’ve turned around, not just accounts that were already working
  • Led client relationships through renewals and through rough patches, including retaining clients when performance dipped
  • A logical, evidence-first diagnostic method: you can explain exactly how you’d break down “the leads have dropped” into testable causes
  • Experience mentoring or quality-reviewing other PPC people’s work
  • Clear, honest communicator, comfortable telling a client (or the MD) something they don’t want to hear
  • Agency experience preferred; strong in-house candidates who want portfolio variety will be considered
  • The right to work in the UK (we are unable to offer visa sponsorship)
