We’re looking for an experienced Senior Practice Specialist to join our Commercial Lines Service Unit (CLSU). This hands-on role supports the processing and administration of mid-market and large commercial accounts, while working closely with Producers, Senior Account Managers and Senior Placement Brokers. The position provides accurate and timely policy processing and serves as a senior resource and escalation point for the CLSU when the Director is unavailable.

This role does not have direct reports or formal people-management responsibilities.

Position type: Full-time, permanent

Role status: Replacement

Location: Preferably Toronto or Durham; will consider other offices for the right candidate.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Process and administer mid-market and large commercial accounts, including complex and multi-policy clients
  • Complete renewals, endorsements, cancellations, policy changes, certificates, invoicing and other commercial policy transactions
  • Review insurer documentation and maintain accurate account information and documentation within EPIC
  • Work closely with the KRG account team to ensure servicing requirements are completed accurately and on time
  • Handle complex processing requests and assist CLSU team members with technical, procedural and workflow questions
  • Act as a senior resource and escalation point when the Director is unavailable, assisting with workload prioritization and operational issues as required
  • Support onboarding, workflow consistency, process improvements and other Commercial Lines initiatives

Knowledge, Skills And Requirements

Licensing & Education

  • Active RIBO license is required
  • Minimum 5 years of commercial insurance experience, including mid-market and/or large commercial accounts.
  • EPIC experience is a strong asset

Technical & Interpersonal Skills

  • Strong knowledge of commercial insurance coverages, policy documentation and insurer requirements
  • Proven ability to administer complex commercial accounts and resolve processing discrepancies
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving and communication skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to provide guidance to colleagues while remaining a hands-on member of the team

Compensation Range: $80,000 (75%) – $110,000 (125%)

Placement on the range is based on proven skills and experience related to the position. Compensation is based on a full-time 35-hour work week and will be dependent upon the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. It includes variable commissions and potential performance-based bonus.
