Are you on the stepping stone to management or looking to enhance your specialist knowledge in your next Senior Practitioner role?

Birmingham Childrens Trust are currently looking for Senior Social Workers to join their ever growing service as a Senior Practitioner. You will have the opportunity to experience every aspect of social work within their Safeguarding Team; therefore allowing you to progress in your social work practice; as well as the opportunity to forge out a managerial career.

As one of our Senior Practitioners, you'll find everything designed to assist you in achieving the most positive outcomes. Because Birmingham are focused on children and young people's safeguarding and wellbeing and nothing else, you'll be free to do the same.

You'll play a lead role on our relationship-based, trauma informed practice model, managing a complex caseload, providing technical and professional expertise, as well as mentoring and professional support to the rest of the less experienced social work team members and students.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
