Vacancy Introduction
An exciting opportunity for a Band 7 Senior CYPMHS Practitioner post working within both our Crisis and Liaison and CORE Pathways. The post is 4 days a week and fixed term until the end of June 2027.
The post will be based within CORE and the Crisis and Liaison team. Days and times can be discussed on recruitment but will include at least one day per week working within the Crisis and Liaison pathway. The teams are co-located and this is an excellent opportunity to work more collaboratively together, focussing on the patient journey and will support development of both assessment and case coordination skills. The successful candidate will lead on the cross working between the teams.
The CORE team (Children & Young People, Outreach, Risk assessment & Formulation and Enhanced Support) offers support to young people where there are levels of complexity and risk. Both are citywide, multidisciplinary teams. We provide specialist assessment and formulation and intervention for young people up to the age of 18 and their families and are committed to keeping the needs of the children and young people we see at the heart of what we deliver. We are looking for a practitioner who has previous experience of working with risk and complex mental health needs, is highly motivated to learn new skills and work with young people and their families. We prioritise reflective practice, clinical supervision and continuing professional development.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
