Senior Practitioner (Maternity Cover) - Suffolk

What You’ll Be Doing

• Managing and prioritising an allocated caseload.
• Assessing needs and developing, implementing and reviewing individual support plans.
• Delivering one-to-one and group programmes, workshops and interventions.
• Providing practical guidance and support to parents and carers.
• Building positive relationships with children, young people and their families.
• Working collaboratively with professionals across health, education, social care and community services.
• Advocating for children, young people and families and ensuring their voices are heard.
• Maintaining accurate case records, risk assessments and outcome information.
• Responding appropriately to safeguarding concerns.
• Providing guidance and support to colleagues, volunteers and team members with lived experience.
• Contributing to reflective practice, supervision, service monitoring and continuous improvement.

Role-specific induction and training will be provided, including training in the service's programmes and intervention approaches.

About You

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has relevant experience supporting children and young people with autism, ADHD, neurodevelopmental differences and emotional wellbeing needs.
• Understands the importance of individualised, strengths-based and neurodiversity-affirming support.
• Has experience working directly with parents and carers.
• Can assess needs, develop support plans, manage risk and review progress.
• Has a good understanding of safeguarding responsibilities.
• Can confidently manage and prioritise a varied caseload.
• Is a compassionate and effective communicator who can adapt their approach to different children, families and professionals.
• Is confident delivering workshops, group sessions or presentations.
• Works well both independently and collaboratively as part of a wider team.
• Is organised, proactive and committed to improving outcomes for children, young people and families.

Relevant qualifications within health, education, social care, youth work or family support are desirable. We’ll also consider applicants who can demonstrate equivalent knowledge and substantial relevant experience.

Essential Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must:

• Live within the Suffolk area.
• Hold a full driving licence and have access to a car for work purposes.
• Hold, or be willing to obtain, appropriate business-use insurance.
• Be willing and able to travel across Suffolk.
• Be able to work flexibly when required, which may occasionally include working outside standard hours.
