Job Description

Salary: £40,777 - £46,142 Per annum | Pro Rata | Permanent | Part-Time 18.5 hours per week

International Sponsorship: This role is not open to international sponsorship

About the Role

We’re looking for a part-time Senior Practitioner (Grade 9) to join our Fostering Mainstream Assessment Team.

This is a permanent role working 18.5 hours per week and is available to start anytime from the 1st September 2026.

Our Mainstream Assessment Team

Our Team leads on recruiting and assessing Lancashire's mainstream foster carers. This includes initial visits, completing full fostering assessments, and preparing families through tailored training so they feel confident, supported, and ready for the fostering journey.

Both teams are based at County Hall in Preston, although we currently work flexibly. As our work takes us across Lancashire, you’ll need to be able to travel independently.

Our Values – What Matters To Us

Everything we do is grounded in clear and heartfelt principles:

  • Putting children, young people, and families at the heart of every decision.
  • Making sure families are genuinely involved, whether the decision is big or small.
  • Working together to continually shape and improve the support we offer.
  • Building meaningful relationships and effective partnerships across services.
  • Removing barriers so children and families can access the opportunities they deserve.
  • Moving towards a fully trauma-informed workforce so we can better support children who have experienced adversity.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
