We’re looking for a compassionate and experienced Family Intervention Senior Practitioner to join our Suffolk & North-East Essex Neurodiversity Support Service.
At Kids, we believe every child and young person deserves to feel understood, valued and supported. Our service works with children and young people aged 5-18 with autism and/or ADHD, alongside their parents and carers, providing practical, person-centred support that builds confidence, resilience and emotional wellbeing.
Service: Suffolk & North-East Essex Neurodiversity Support Service
Location: Home-based with regular travel across Suffolk and North-East Essex
Salary: £12,795 per annum
Hours: 18 hours per week
About The Role
As a Family Intervention Senior Practitioner, you’ll work directly with children, young people and their families across Suffolk and North-East Essex.
- You’ll manage your own caseload, assess individual and family needs, develop tailored support plans and deliver a range of one-to-one and group-based interventions.
- You’ll help children and young people better understand themselves and develop practical strategies around areas such as emotional wellbeing, anxiety, emotional regulation, sensory needs, sleep, social communication and resilience.
- You’ll also provide guidance and reassurance to parents and carers, deliver workshops for families and professionals, and work closely with colleagues and partner organisations across health, education, social care and the wider community.

As a senior member of the team, you’ll help maintain high standards of practice and provide guidance and support to colleagues, volunteers and team members with lived experience.
Role-specific induction and training, including approaches such as Draw and Talk and Lego Therapy, will be provided.
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has experience supporting children and young people with autism, ADHD, neurodevelopmental differences and/or emotional wellbeing needs.
- Has experience working directly with parents and carers and can build positive, trusting relationships with families.
- Can assess needs, develop and review support plans and manage a varied caseload.
- Has a good understanding of safeguarding, professional boundaries and safe working practices.
- Is a compassionate and confident communicator who can adapt their approach to different children, families and professionals.
- Is comfortable delivering, or has the confidence to deliver, workshops, group sessions and presentations.
- Can work collaboratively with professionals across health, education, social care and community services.
- Is organised, proactive and able to work independently while contributing positively to a supportive team.
- Is committed to equality, diversity, inclusion and neurodiversity-affirming practice.
Relevant qualifications in health, education, social care, youth work or family support are desirable. However, we also welcome applications from people who can demonstrate equivalent knowledge and substantial relevant experience.

Essential Requirements
Due to the nature of the role, you must:
- Live within the Suffolk/Essex area.
- Hold a full driving licence and have access to a car for work purposes.
- Hold, or be willing to obtain, appropriate business-use insurance.
- Be willing and able to travel across Suffolk and Essex to support children, young people and families.
- Be able to work flexibly when required, which may occasionally include working outside standard hours.
