Senior Pre-Sales Solutions Engineer
Position Overview
We are looking for a Senior Pre-Sales Solutions Engineer to join our team in Milton Keynes.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Designing technical solution proposals and planning project deliveries in collaboration with the Sales team.
- Conducting comprehensive IT audits, defining complex project scopes and deliverables, and creating proposals and sales documentation.
- Supporting client meetings by addressing technical queries.
- Assisting in the development of new solutions to enhance the service catalogue.
Salary & Benefits
- The budgeted salary for this role is between £45,000 and £55,000 a year, depending on experience.
- £4,500 annual car allowance
- Access to a commission scheme (annual OTE is £70,000)

Please note that some client travel will be required for this role. Clients are primarily based around Milton Keynes, but there will be a need to go further afield when required.
Responsibilities
Some of your day-to-day duties will include:
- Understanding and defining complex project scopes, goals, and deliverables.
- Identifying and outlining the required implementation tasks and resource requirements for projects.
- Creating proposals and sales documentation in collaboration with other members of the Sales team.
- Ensuring that all projects are accurately scoped and that professional services are quoted accordingly.
- Assisting the Business Development Manager and Client Manager in meetings with prospective and existing clients, addressing any technical queries raised.
- Reviewing new solutions and developing business cases for additional services to enhance the service catalogue or address specific customer requests.

What Success Looks Like
- Conduct IT audits by completing a minimum of 3 comprehensive IT audits, identifying at least 5 key areas of concern and potential solutions for each audit.
- Define project scopes by documenting and outlining project scopes for at least 4 new client projects, ensuring all technical deliverables and resource requirements are clearly defined.
- Support client meetings with technical insights by participating in at least 6 client proposal meetings and addressing a minimum of 10 technical queries raised by clients.
- Collaborate on new technical solutions by proposing at least 2 new technical solutions or enhancements based on client feedback and industry trends.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience in a customer-facing role, effectively communicating with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong understanding of IT technologies, including MS Windows Server, cloud solutions (such as Azure and M365), and networking technologies.
- Ability to manage complex project scopes and deliverables while working to SLAs.
- Familiarity with storage platforms (SAN/NAS/Cloud) and server virtualization technologies (Hyper-V & VMWare).
- Experience in planning and deploying commissioning and migrations for various IT platforms.
- Creative and analytical problem-solving skills with a methodical approach to addressing client requirements.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage with diverse stakeholders effectively.
