Senior Pre-Sales Solutions Engineer
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Pre-Sales Solutions Engineer based in the United Kingdom.
This role offers the opportunity to shape complex technical evaluations for strategic enterprise customers across EMEA.
You will bridge sales and engineering, translating customer objectives into measurable technical solutions and successful production outcomes.
The position combines customer-facing consulting with hands-on development, including prototypes, integrations, demonstrations, and proof-of-concepts.
You will advise on architecture, security, scalability, latency, cost, cloud infrastructure, and data residency requirements.
Working closely with Account Executives, Solutions Architects, Product, Engineering, Support, and partners, you will help customers move from discovery through expansion.
The role also emphasizes reusable technical assets, field enablement, and continuous improvement across a rapidly evolving AI environment.
As part of a distributed EMEA team, you will have significant ownership while collaborating across regions and functions.
Accountabilities:
- Lead technical discovery for strategic opportunities, translating business objectives into measurable technical success criteria and evaluation plans.
- Design, scope, and execute enterprise proof-of-concepts, defining datasets, metrics, timelines, and validation criteria.
- Build lightweight prototypes, sample integrations, demonstrations, and technical tools using APIs and SDKs.
- Advise customers on architectures optimized for accuracy, latency, scalability, cost, security, and reliability across cloud, self-hosted, and hybrid environments.
- Support GDPR, ISO 27001, SOC 2, data residency, vendor risk, and other security and compliance discussions common in EMEA enterprise sales.
- Troubleshoot and debug technical issues during evaluations, working with Product, Engineering, and Support teams to resolve customer blockers.
- Create reusable technical assets such as reference architectures, samples, runbooks, field guides, and accelerators.
- Partner with Solutions Architects and Support to ensure continuity from initial technical validation through production launches and expansion.
- Enable Account Executives, Customer Success teams, and partners through technical positioning, demonstrations, objection handling, and solution validation.
- Manage multiple strategic opportunities while maintaining clear documentation, defined escalation paths, and measurable outcomes.

Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in Solutions Engineering or a similar customer-facing technical role focused on pre-sales.
- Professional software engineering experience in at least one language such as JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or Rust, with the ability to build functional POCs and tools.
- Hands-on experience with modern cloud platforms, Docker, Kubernetes, networking fundamentals, and secure API design.
- Proven experience leading technical proof-of-concepts for enterprise customers and successfully achieving technical validation.
- Strong ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly with both engineering teams and executive stakeholders.
- Comfortable combining customer conversations, architecture discussions, hands-on development, troubleshooting, and technical documentation.
- Strong understanding of enterprise security, authentication, authorization, privacy, and data residency requirements.
- Excellent written and spoken English and availability within an EMEA time zone with strong overlap with customer business hours.
- Experience with speech recognition, text-to-speech, voice quality analysis, or AI agents is a strong advantage.
- Familiarity with telephony and real-time media technologies such as SIP, WebRTC, streaming, and WebSocket integrations is beneficial.
- Experience with self-hosted or hybrid deployments, Helm-based installations, and production observability is a plus.
- Additional European language skills, particularly German, French, Dutch, Italian, or Spanish, are advantageous.
- A collaborative, adaptable, and solution-oriented mindset, with the ability to work effectively across regions and functions.
