You will be working in the Building Services Operating Unit on the Essex Schools project. We’re working across schools, colleges, and universities in four UK regions, our Building Services division delivers complete facilities management; M&E, cleaning, catering, and grounds, via efficient planned and reactive services powered by technology, ensuring safe, healthy learning environments.
Job Description
We are currently looking for a Senior Premises Manager who will provide strong, visible leadership across the Essex Schools project, bringing together office-based, site-based and supply chain teams to deliver an exceptional customer experience. This role will oversee and coordinate onsite teams, engineering resources, Helpdesk, cleaning and grounds maintenance services, while developing trusted relationships with multiple stakeholders and ensuring services are delivered safely, efficiently, consistently and to the highest standards.

Responsibilities
- Provide visible leadership across the Essex Schools contract, supporting teams and driving high standards, and lead Premises teams to deliver effective caretaking services across the project.
- Manage resources, absence and site cover to maintain service continuity.
- Align office, site and supply chain teams through strong communication and collaboration.
- Ensure compliance through audits, assurance and robust Health and Safety leadership.
- Undertake Authorised Person duties in line with Skanska standards and legislation.
- Manage contractor performance and oversee planned and reactive maintenance delivery.
Requirements
- Strong leadership, customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to balance a whole-project view with visible site-level support.
- Strong planning, prioritisation and resource management capability.
- Knowledge of audits, statutory compliance, PPM, reactive maintenance and contractor management.
- Ability to use CAFM data to track performance, risk and service delivery.
- Coaching, team development and succession planning skills.
- Experience supporting lifecycle works, projects and continuous improvement.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and solve problems collaboratively.
