Job Title: Senior Data Scientist

North Co Recruitment are working with a leading UK retail insurer to appoint a Senior Data Scientist into their pricing function. It's a role with genuine technical range - deep learning, predictive analytics and machine learning - and a direct line of sight into how your models shape business decisions, rather than sitting behind someone else's.

What you'll do

  • Build and evaluate machine learning models, from deep learning through to predictive analytics, that solve genuine business problems.
  • Own the data science lifecycle across large, multi-source datasets, from analysis and cleansing through to deployment.
  • Apply a broad statistical toolkit, from GLMs and random forest to NLP, clustering and scenario analysis, to generate insight that gets acted on.
  • Test and develop new external data sources to keep the team's analytical edge sharp.
  • Partner directly with in-house technology and data delivery teams to move solutions from build into production.
  • Review the work of junior team members, sharing good practice as the function grows.
  • Spot and pitch new opportunities across the business where data science can add real value.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
