What sort of work?

Right now, we have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Pricing Manager to join our highly experienced Finance team. This role will play a central role in developing a pricing framework, specifying system requirements and support sustainable revenue growth across the firm.

Working closely with partners, Finance, Business Development and operational teams, this role provides commercial insight, pricing guidance, training and practical tools to support profitable client relationships and informed decision-making. Experience adapting pricing and service delivery approaches in response to AI-related challenges would be advantageous.

The role is based in either our London or Bristol office and key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing and continuously improving pricing strategies, processes, templates and tools aligned to the firm's commercial objectives
  • Taking a key role in specifying, selecting and implementing pricing and matter management software to supplement the firm's Aderant PMS
  • Acting as a trusted advisor to partners and senior stakeholders on pricing strategy, fee proposals, alternative fee arrangements, rate structures and profitability
  • Leading or supporting pricing input for pitches, panel submissions, tenders, RFPs and client proposals, working closely with Business Development and Finance colleagues
  • Preparing and maintaining robust pricing models, matter budgets and financial analysis to support decision-making on fee proposals, client arrangements and matter economics
  • Reviewing client, matter, team and practice group profitability, identifying risks, trends and opportunities to improve pricing, resourcing, leverage and delivery models
  • Supporting annual rate-setting and client rate review processes, including analysis of standard rates, bespoke rates, discounts and client-specific arrangements
  • Advising on matter scoping, assumptions, resourcing mix, utilisation, write-offs, working capital implications and commercial risks
  • Helping Matter Partners and Matter lawyers monitor performance against agreed budgets and fee arrangements, highlighting at-risk matters and feeding lessons learning into future pricing decisions
  • Contributing to post-matter reviews and client portfolio reviews, turning financial analysis into clear practical recommendations for partners and business leaders
  • Supporting the development and adoption of matter planning, pricing and profitability tools, including training, guidance and intranet resources where appropriate
  • Working with Finance and Business Manager colleagues to ensure pricing agreements are accurately implemented, monitored and reported
  • Promoting pricing best practice across the firm and helping build commercial confidence among partners, lawyers and business service teams
  • Managing ad hoc pricing, profitability and financial analysis requests for internal stakeholders and, where appropriate, external client discussions

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
