Job Summary
A leading employee benefits insurer is seeking a Senior Pricing Manager to join its actuarial team. This is a senior technical pricing role with responsibility for setting pricing bases, reviewing experience and assumptions, and supporting commercially robust pricing decisions across a range of Group Protection products.
The role offers the opportunity to take ownership of significant pricing activity, contribute to pricing strategy and governance, and provide technical leadership to junior actuarial colleagues.
About The Role
You will play a key role in the development and delivery of pricing across Group Life products.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Leading the setting of central pricing bases and agreeing product terms.
- Owning pricing reviews and annual experience investigations.
- Reviewing pricing assumptions and making recommendations for changes.
- Monitoring emerging risk trends, new money rates, expenses and cost of capital.
- Recommending pricing adjustments where appropriate, ensuring pricing remains commercially robust and within risk appetite.
- Preparing pricing reports and presenting recommendations to senior governance forums.
- Working with Financial Underwriting, Distribution, Marketing and technology/data teams to translate pricing analysis into commercial decisions.
- Considering pricing recommendations in relation to fair value, Conduct Risk, Consumer Duty and Solvency II requirements.
- Maintaining appropriate controls across pricing processes and identifying opportunities to improve ways of working.
- Supporting wider pricing and risk-selection strategic initiatives.
- Providing technical guidance, coaching and line management to actuarial students and newly qualified actuaries.

About You
You will be a qualified Life Actuary with strong post-qualification experience and a background in life, health or protection insurance.
You Will Bring
- Strong hands-on pricing experience.
- Experience reviewing pricing assumptions and investigating experience.
- Strong numerical, analytical and actuarial modelling skills.
- Confidence working with data and IT tools to support pricing analysis.
- Experience producing reports and presenting technical recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- An understanding of commercial pricing considerations, including risk appetite, expenses and cost of capital.
- Experience working within a regulated insurance environment.
- The ability to provide technical guidance and support the development of junior actuarial colleagues.

The role combines hands-on actuarial pricing, experience analysis, pricing governance and strategic initiatives, alongside the opportunity to influence pricing decisions and support the development of the wider pricing capability.
You will also have responsibility for coaching and developing actuarial students and newly qualified actuaries, giving the role a clear technical leadership component.
The position operates on a hybrid basis, with three days in the office and two days working from home.
