Are you an EHV Substation Primary Design Engineer who can take the lead on complex EHV substation projects? Looking for a role where your expertise will help shape the future of the UK's electricity network while offering genuine career progression? If so, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

We are looking for experienced EHV Substation Primary Design Engineers to join our client's growing team based at Thorpe Park, Leeds or Cheadle, Staffordshire.

You’ll be involved throughout the project lifecycle, from feasibility studies and concept design through to detailed design and construction support. You'll collaborate with experienced engineers, project managers and technical specialists, helping to deliver practical engineering solutions on projects ranging from 11kV distribution systems to 132kV transmission-connected substations.

No two projects are the same, giving you the chance to expand your technical knowledge while working on some of the UK's most exciting energy infrastructure developments.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
