The Senior Principal Engineer- Structural Engineering will serve as the subject matter expert for certification compliance and airworthiness, responsible for executing STC, PMA, UK CAA and OEM certification programs, developing certification strategy, and developing Structural Engineers within the organization. This is an onsite role in Leighton Buzzard, UK.
What you will do
- Defines standards and implements processes for certification and airworthiness within the engineering organization.
- Executes certification compliance campaigns for programs related to commercial aircraft interior upgrades.
- Partners with regulators, aircraft OEMs and organizations across Collins on certification strategies to enable and grow the aftermarket business.
- Coordinates with management to develop training plans, and mentors team members for discipline advancement.
- Reviews and approves test plans, reports, compliance documents, and witnesses testing.
- Conducts root cause analysis, participates in and facilitates continuous improvement activities to improve performance.
- Identifies and reacts to complex project problems, develops and implements solutions.

Experience & Qualifications we prefer:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role is essential.
- Experience working in aerospace environment is essential, ideally within In Service/Aftermarket.
- Extensive Experience with aircraft OEM, FAA and/or EASA aircraft certification processes.
- M1020 Signatory experience is also essential
- Experience in the design and certification of mechanical and electrical systems for commercial aircraft interior products.
- Current EASA/ UK CVE or Company equivalent within Part 25.
