Manchester, Liverpool, Belfast | Hybrid Working | GBP 55,000–GBP 65,000+ | CEng / Working Towards Chartership

Ready to take your electrical engineering career to the next level?

We're looking for an experienced Senior or Principal Electrical Design Engineer to join a leading Building Services consultancy in Manchester.

This is a role for an engineer who can do more than produce designs. We're looking for someone who can lead projects, influence clients, mentor engineers, and take technical ownership.

What you'll be doing

You'll be involved across a diverse portfolio of exciting UK projects, taking responsibility for electrical design from RIBA Stage 1 through to Stage 6/7.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

  • Leading electrical design on major building–services projects
  • Producing and reviewing electrical calculations, specifications, and technical reports
  • Developing LV distribution, lighting, small power, containment, and life–safety systems
  • Coordinating electrical designs with wider MEP and multidisciplinary teams
  • Working directly with clients, contractors, and other design professionals
  • Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior and intermediate engineers
  • Reviewing designs and ensuring technical quality and compliance
  • Contributing to fee proposals, tenders, and business development
  • Helping develop innovative and sustainable engineering solutions

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
