We are hiring a critical role for a Strategic New Business Development Director, responsible for new business across the UK, Ireland, and Nordics. You will join a diverse, passionate team, dedicated to making possibilities happen in the Payments industry. If you’ve ever used an ATM, paid a bill through your phone, sent money to a friend, or shopped online, chances are your transaction was safeguarded and processed using ACI solutions.
Role Overview
The Strategic New Business Development Director has accountability for the development and execution of strategies, campaigns, and plans to grow ACI’s sales and revenue. ACI has the privilege of a strong customer base across the region and this role is dedicated to selling into new clients to become best in class as measured by sales & revenue growth, customer satisfaction, and customer loyalty.
Sales isn’t a solo role and every member of the mission team plays a vital role in delivering results. This position champions a “One Team” mindset, so motivating across the organisation and being passionate about Payments across the UK, Ireland, and Nordic regions is critical to success. The Strategic New Business Development Director will also play a key role in representing ACI at key events and represents ACI externally across the industry.
The role is pan-solution, offering the opportunity to take to market ACI’s broad portfolio of solutions, be those as licensed technology or as SaaS.

Job Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional collaboration under a ‘New Business Mission’ to deliver sales and revenue growth (Solution Consulting, Client Delivery, Product Management, Marketing, and Finance)
- Build pipeline, nurture leads, and close contracts to meet and exceed new logo business targets
- Deliver a new Go-To-Market strategy against a clear addressable market
- Develop and execute sales campaigns, based on ACI’s unique value proposition, differentiators, and market drivers
- Be the external market voice for product roadmap needs. Work with the Product Management team and internal teams ensuring customer feedback and their needs are shared and provided as future opportunities
- Be Disciplined & Focused. Qualification, win strategies, and pursuit tactics aren’t buzzwords, they’re essential. You’ll document plans and be relentless in your pursuit of excellence
- Execute on key employee and business initiatives as required to support strategic and operating plans
- Understand and adhere to all corporate policies to include but not limited to the ACI Code of Business Conduct and Ethics
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required for the Job
- Significant number of years’ experience of relevant business management experience in Banking and/or financial services technology
- Deep Payments knowledge is not an absolute must, however, an understanding of how to operate across Banks (be those Commercial, Corporate, Investment, Retail, Neo, Digital etc.), Building Societies, EMIs, and PSPs, is critical
- Track record of creating go-to-market strategies and executing against operating plan
- Desire to translate issues into client outcomes and not lead with product specification. Experience in leading with value tailored to individuals, functions, and organisations
- An existing network across UK, Irish, and Nordic based banks, fintech, and PSPs (multi-level contacts) and are passionate about building new value-based relationships
- Excellent relationship and selling skills – delivery of results
- In-depth industry knowledge, across regulation, market trends, and buyer requirements
- Thoughtful and accurate Sales process management
- Behavioural must haves include Integrity, Commercial Acumen, and Building Trusted Relationships

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Needed for the Job
- Specialism in selling High Value payments, in particular cross border, RTGS, and digital asset solutions to commercial and corporate banking clients
- Proven ability to lead and motivate management teams
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent negotiation and influencing skills
- Budgeting, planning, and variance management skills
- Excellent ability to execute results-based management
- In-depth knowledge of payment products
- Ability to represent the voice of the customer and monitor the marketplace/identify business opportunities and trends
