The Opportunity

We're looking for a Senior Principal, Operations to provide strategic and operational leadership across Envision Medical Communications (EMC). Working closely with the VP, EMC Operations and General Managers, you will translate enterprise priorities into an integrated operating model that supports commercial performance, sustainable growth, and high-quality delivery.

As a key operational lead for the agency, you will own EMC's approach to workforce planning, capacity, financial performance, and delivery effectiveness. Using commercial and operational insight, you will anticipate demand, identify risks and opportunities, and advise senior leaders on the resourcing, team structures, and operating models needed to achieve business goals.

You will partner closely with Finance, Human Resources and other cross-functional teams, contributing to procurement and commercial negotiations and helping shape the future of EMC's workforce. This is a highly influential role requiring the judgement and presence to operate at senior leadership level, influence without direct authority, and drive decisions that enable EMC to scale and perform at its best.

This role is open to candidates based in either the UK or US, with the option to work fully remotely or hybrid from one of our office locations.

How Will You Make an Impact at Envision Pharma Group?

Role Responsibilities

  • Own the application and evolution of EMC's operational frameworks, processes, governance, and enterprise standards.
  • Provide General Managers and leadership teams with insight and recommendations to support commercial, resourcing, and delivery decisions.
  • Lead agency-wide staffing and capacity planning, shaping resource plans and team structures while balancing utilisation, workloads, demand, and growth.
  • Anticipate and resolve resourcing and delivery risks, using sound judgement to determine when to act locally and when to escalate.
  • Partner with Finance to assess financial performance, recoverability, utilisation, and client performance, translating data into clear recommendations for agency leadership.
  • Synthesise agency performance, KPIs, and forward demand into evidence-based inputs for procurement and commercial decision-making.
  • Shape EMC's commercial narrative for procurement discussions and contribute to negotiations, bringing operational and financial insight to secure sustainable outcomes.
  • Set the standard for operational and financial practices across agency teams and systems, including SPP and SFDC, coaching leaders and embedding strong commercial practices.
  • Lead Operations' contribution to client engagement activities, including Health Checks, remediation, growth scaling, and process or system change.
  • Own agency client recoverability performance against plan, partnering with Client Engagement teams to diagnose underperformance and drive corrective action.
  • Act as the senior operational counterpart to cross-functional EPG functions including Human Resources, Finance, Contracts, and Legal, aligning priorities and ways of working.
  • Partner with Human Resources on workforce planning, hiring strategy, talent development, and annual planning cycles, including promotions, merit, bonus, goal setting, requisitions, and staffing justification.
  • Shape operational governance, reporting, and business planning, bringing the operational perspective to enterprise planning cycles.
  • Lead and sponsor continuous improvement initiatives that improve delivery effectiveness, scalability, commercial performance, and growth.
  • Partner with the other Agency Operations Lead to evolve EMC's workforce model across permanent hiring, freelance, offshore, and strategic partner solutions.
  • Contribute to the evolution of workforce planning tools and skills inventories, including EnvisionExpert and other resource management systems, incorporating emerging workforce practices and industry trends.
  • Identify opportunities to improve time, cost, and quality across the agency, taking process and system improvements through executive sponsorship and adoption.
  • Hold agency leaders accountable for operational consistency and collaboration, modelling behaviours that build a high-performing operational culture.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
