Senior / Principal Recruitment Consultant

Nottingham | £40k–£60k+ basic DOE | Up to 50% commission | Clear route to Associate Director

One Hiring is looking for an experienced agency recruiter to join our team at Senior or Principal Consultant level, with the opportunity to progress quickly into Associate Director and beyond.

About Us

We're a specialist recruitment business working predominantly across the accountancy and professional services market in the UK and US.

You'll be joining an established business, not being handed a laptop and told to build a cold desk from scratch.

We already work with some of the biggest and best-known firms in our market, from the Big 4 through to leading Top 50 and independent accountancy firms, and we've built long-term relationships across Tax, Audit, Advisory and senior leadership recruitment.

What We're Looking For

We're deliberately keeping the brief broad. You might currently be a:

  • Senior Recruitment Consultant
  • Principal Consultant
  • Managing Consultant
  • Recruitment Manager
  • Team Lead
  • Associate Director

Your exact title doesn't particularly matter.

What does matter is that you've already proved you can recruit. Ideally, you'll have a track record of generating your own revenue, developing client relationships and managing recruitment processes properly from start to finish.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

You don't need to come from accountancy recruitment. We're much more interested in finding someone commercial, credible and ambitious who wants to build something significant.

Why One Hiring?

  • A genuine client base: You'll have access to established relationships rather than spending your first six months trying to convince someone to give you a vacancy.
  • Big markets: Our consultants recruit across the UK and US, with opportunities ranging from qualified professionals through to Director and Partner-level appointments.
  • Proper earning potential: Our commission structure rewards high performance heavily, with commission rising up to 50% for our highest billers. We want exceptional recruiters to earn exceptional money.
  • Progression that doesn't require somebody else to leave: We're growing the business and want the next generation of leaders to grow with it. For the right person, there is a clear path through Principal Consultant, Associate Director, Director and leadership positions.
  • Autonomy: If you're experienced, you'll be treated like you're experienced. We care about results, relationships and doing good work — not managing people through meaningless KPIs for the sake of it.
  • A business where you can actually make an impact: We're deliberately not a huge recruitment company. You'll work closely with the leadership team, have a voice in how we develop markets and clients, and have genuine scope to shape your own career here.

Who This Probably Suits

  • Someone who's doing well where they are, but has started wondering whether they're getting enough back for what they're putting in.
  • Maybe you've built a strong desk but the commission isn't good enough.
  • Maybe the next promotion feels years away.
  • Maybe you're surrounded by layers of management.
  • Or perhaps you simply want to join a smaller, ambitious business where becoming one of the key people actually means something.

We're happy to speak confidentially. You don't need an updated CV and you certainly don't need to have decided you want to leave your current company.

If you're an experienced recruiter and you'd be interested in hearing what we're building at One Hiring, apply here or message Gareth Davies directly for an informal conversation.
