Job Description Summary:

Job Overview:

The Senior Principal Architect defines and drives the technical strategy across the DataEdge portfolio. In close partnership with Product Management, Engineering, Support, and executive leadership, this role aligns product roadmaps, platform investments, and architectural decisions with customer needs, business objectives, and Rocket's strategy to become a platform company.

The DataEdge portfolio includes Rocket's data integration, replication, synchronization, virtualization, and data intelligence solutions. It helps customers unlock enterprise data across distributed, cloud, and mainframe environments by making trusted data available where it is needed. As AI adoption accelerates, DataEdge delivers trusted, connected, and actionable information to the applications, platforms, models, agents, and intelligent business processes that power modern digital enterprises.

This role will evolve the portfolio into an integrated platform through cloud-native architecture, shared services, AI-enabled innovation, and cross-product collaboration. Success requires technical leadership and the ability to build alignment and shared ownership.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Product Management to define the DataEdge platform strategy and translate business priorities into a shared, cross-product technical roadmap.
  • Build alignment across Product and Engineering teams, balancing product needs with portfolio-wide platform objectives.
  • Collaborate with architects across DataEdge, other Rocket portfolios, and business units to identify shared platform opportunities, promote consistency, and drive alignment on strategic architectural decisions.
  • Drive reusable services, APIs, frameworks, and common platform capabilities while consolidating overlapping technologies.
  • Define cloud-native strategies for deployment, configuration, scalability, observability, security, and operational excellence.
  • Lead the adoption and integration of AI platform capabilities, intelligent automation, MCP, and agentic systems across the DataEdge portfolio.
  • Partner with Product teams to identify and prioritize AI capabilities that create measurable customer value and competitive differentiation.
  • Represent the DataEdge technology vision internally and externally. Maintain awareness of industry trends, analyst perspectives, emerging technologies, and competitive offerings to help shape portfolio strategy and investment priorities.
  • Shape how DataEdge fits within the broader data, analytics, and AI ecosystem, collaborating across Rocket portfolios and external technology partners to deliver integrated platform capabilities and differentiated customer outcomes.
  • Promote adoption of industry standards, open APIs, and interoperability frameworks to ensure DataEdge integrates effectively across diverse customer environments and technology ecosystems.
  • Coach teams on AI-enabled development, including AI-assisted coding, testing, documentation, modernization, and delivery.
  • Lead architecture reviews, communicate decisions and tradeoffs, and mentor senior technical talent across the portfolio.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
