Senior Private Client Tax Consultant

Fully Remote | UK-based

Are you an experienced Private Client Tax specialist who still enjoys the technical side of tax, but is becoming less enthusiastic about compliance, timesheets, fee targets and business development?

This could be a very interesting next step.

We’re working with a growing tax consultancy looking for an experienced Senior Private Client Tax Consultant to join its fully remote team.

This is a role designed for someone who wants to get stuck into the work they really qualified for solving complex tax problems, providing technical advice and producing high-quality written reports.

There is absolutely no compliance involved.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll work on a broad range of technically interesting Private Client matters, including:

  • Advising on Inheritance Tax, Capital Gains Tax, Income Tax and SDLT
  • Supporting succession and estate planning, including lifetime gifts, trusts and business structures
  • Advising on IHT and CGT reliefs and planning opportunities
  • Providing advice around property, partnerships and SDLT
  • Researching complex technical issues and developing practical solutions
  • Producing high-quality advisory reports, letters and technical guidance
  • Working with accountants ranging from sole practitioners through to Top 100 firms
  • Sharing your expertise and helping other tax professionals with technically challenging issues

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

What makes this different?

This isn't a traditional practice role.

  • There are no tax returns, no compliance portfolio, no fee targets and no expectation to go out and win business.

Instead, you'll be able to focus on what you enjoy and what your experience has equipped you to do: technical tax advisory work.

It's an opportunity to take the knowledge you've built over a substantial tax career and put it to use every day, without the distractions that often come with a senior role in practice.
