Job Description
At Premier Foods, we're passionate about creating food that brings people together and we're constantly pushing the boundaries of how it's made. We're now looking for a Senior Process Development Technologist to join our R&D team in Worksop and play a key role in shaping our long-term innovation pipeline.
This is an exciting opportunity to explore cutting-edge technologies, influence future manufacturing processes, and collaborate with internal teams and external partners to bring new ideas to life.

What You'll Be Doing?
As a Senior Process Development Technologist, you'll operate at the forefront of process innovation, helping to unlock new opportunities across our portfolio.
You will:
- Identify and develop new product and process pathways to enhance performance and efficiency
- Lead and manage cross-functional projects across R&D, Operations, Engineering and Quality
- Conduct trials, scale-up activities and troubleshoot existing manufacturing challenges
- Explore and implement innovative solutions to improve consistency, reduce waste and optimise processes
- Support new factory and line development opportunities
- Collaborate with suppliers, universities and external innovation partners to build strong networks and bring fresh thinking
- Ensure compliance with food safety, regulatory and quality standards, including audit readiness
- Mentor and support junior team members, sharing knowledge and best practices
What We Need From You?
We're looking for someone who combines technical expertise with curiosity and a passion for innovation.
You'll bring:
- Degree (or equivalent) in Food Science, Engineering or a related discipline
- Experience in a food manufacturing environment
- Knowledge or exposure to processes such as thermal processing, extrusion, baking or agglomeration
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and improve processes
- Experience working with third-party manufacturers or suppliers
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills
- Confidence working with data and tools such as Excel
