Senior Process Development Technologist
Location: Manchester

Are you an experienced Process Technologist looking to take the next step in your career, or already operating at Senior level within food manufacturing?
We’re recruiting a Senior Process Development Technologist to join an established bakery manufacturer in the Manchester area.
This is a hands-on role sitting at the critical point between product development and manufacturing. You’ll take new and existing products from the development stage into the factory, ensuring they can be successfully scaled up, manufactured consistently and launched to the required quality, cost and operational standards.
The Role
You’ll work closely with NPD, Technical, Production, Engineering and other key stakeholders to deliver successful product launches and process improvements.

Key responsibilities will include:
- Planning, coordinating and leading factory trials.
- Taking products through scale-up from development into full production.
- Supporting new product launches and ensuring factory readiness.
- Identifying and resolving process challenges during trials and launches.
- Establishing robust manufacturing processes and product specifications.
- Working closely with production teams to ensure products can be manufactured consistently and efficiently.
- Supporting process validation and continuous improvement activity.
- Managing multiple projects through agreed development and launch timelines.
- Providing technical and process expertise across cross-functional project teams.
- Supporting and influencing stakeholders throughout the development process.
About You
We’re interested in speaking with candidates who have experience within bakery or a related food manufacturing environment.

You may currently be working as a:
- Senior Process Technologist
- Process Development Technologist
- Process Technologist
- Senior Development Technologist
- NPD Technologist
- Product Development Technologist
You’ll ideally have practical experience of factory trials, scale-up, process development and product launches, combined with the ability to solve problems in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Bakery experience across cakes, bread, biscuits, pastry, dough or other baked products would be particularly relevant.
This could also suit a strong Process Technologist who is ready to step into a more senior position and take greater ownership of projects.
