Are you an experienced Process Engineer with a strong understanding of power plant design and on-site power generation?
This Principal-level role offers the opportunity to take technical ownership of complex power generation systems supporting major data centre projects.
You will bring a whole-plant perspective, understanding how generation equipment, fuel systems, turbines, exhaust systems and associated mechanical infrastructure come together as one integrated solution.
The role requires someone who can look beyond individual packages, identify where system interfaces could affect performance and ensure separate subsystems operate effectively as part of the complete plant.
This role can be based from any of our UK offices. You'll be expected to work hybrid from the office closest to your location.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Lead process engineering input into the design and integration of on-site power generation systems for data centre projects.
- Assess how turbines, fuel systems, exhaust systems and supporting mechanical infrastructure interface as part of the complete power plant.
- Ensure individual subsystems are designed to operate effectively both independently and as part of the wider generation system.
- Identify and resolve complex design and performance issues including exhaust system constraints and turbine back pressure.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure interfaces are understood, managed and reflected within the overall plant design.
- Provide technical review and assurance across power generation designs, challenging assumptions and identifying opportunities to improve performance and functionality.
- Support projects and engineering teams across different locations, including travel to project or site locations as required.
Essential Skills
- Strong process engineering experience within power plant design and on-site power generation.
- Proven understanding of integrated power generation systems including turbines, fuel interfaces, exhaust systems and associated mechanical plant.
- Ability to assess whole-system performance and identify how individual subsystem designs and interfaces can affect overall plant operation.
- Experience identifying and resolving complex technical issues associated with power generation plant performance.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Flexibility to travel as and when required to support projects and site activities.
