About the Business Unit

The Energy team delivers services across hydropower, nuclear, waste, renewable generation, and transmission & distribution. We provide integrated engineering, project management, and lifecycle solutions—from feasibility and design to operations, decommissioning, and asset repowering. Our work drives the global energy transition.


Overview of the Role

If so, Mott MacDonald’s Nuclear: Defence and Civil division is recruiting a: Senior Process Engineer. This technically focussed role covers all stages of front-end engineering (FEED), from feasibility to detailed design. You’ll:

  • Lead multi-discipline projects and drive bespoke solutions.
  • Collaborate with clients, specialists, and project teams to optimise project processes.
  • Produce design documentation and engage with clients on-site.
  • Proactively grow opportunity pipelines.

Candidate Specification

Essential Requirements

  • Chartered status (preferred) with the Institutie of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) or another relevant professional body. (Affirmative progress or equivalent experience will also be considered.)
  • Technical chemical/process engineering experience.
  • Demonstrable expertise in process engineering design.
  • Exceptional communication and commercial acumen in FEED projects.
  • Skills to review, oversee, and QA engineering work via surveillance.
  • Ability to liaise across disciplines, seek input, and foster fit-for-purpose solutions.
  • Client-facing experience and adaptability for multi-project engagements.

Additional Notes

  • Security Clearance: Offers are conditional on obtaining the appropriate security level.
  • UK Immigration: No current Skilled Worker Visa sponsorship, but alternatives applicable to eligible candidates.
