The Performance and Insight team
The Performance and Insight team exists to provide greater understanding of our operational performance, improve the accuracy and accessibility of data and adapt quickly to our changing operational and technical environment. We handle complex and challenging issues and projects, embed a culture of continuous improvement and enable the business’ strategic transformation.
- Through great Data Governance - we make it easier to find and understand our performance data by implementing great data governance ensuring that data is managed systematically so it can be used efficiently, securely and is accessible to those who need it.
- Easier to understand performance data - we create simple to understand MI against a set of visual standards, we work with each part of our business to educate our teams on how to spend the least amount of time finding the data vs investing their time in making the right decisions based on what the data tell us.
- Understanding the work - we have a complex business and we architect MI to bring to light how we perform end-to-end showing what are the key drivers of work and where bottlenecks exist in the system.
- Innovation and collaboration - as well as making sure we create the best MI today we are looking forward to tomorrow to look at new ways to automate our reporting and embed AI as a way to help our stakeholders identify where their focus should be
This role in a nutshell
An exciting opportunity to use your analytical expertise to drive operational excellence across OVO. You'll be working with data to tell the story of our operational performance, using insights to identify improvement opportunities and working collaboratively with teams to implement changes that benefit our customers. Combining strong analytical skills with continuous improvement methodologies, you'll extract insights from data, conduct rigorous root cause analyses and lead improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency and customer outcomes.

Your key outcomes will be
Performance Analysis & Insights
- Analyse operational data to identify patterns, trends and improvement opportunities, extracting insights from both quantitative KPIs and qualitative sources such as customer cases
- Build narratives through visualisations and reports that clearly present important information and outcomes to stakeholders at all levels
- Monitor performance against agreed metrics and identify trends or issues requiring attention
- Build in automation from trusted data sources using our data governance standards and choose the right platforms for the audiences who need to consume the data
- Take your requirements and build new reusable views of performance tailored to the different levels within your organisation
Process Improvement & Root Cause Analysis
- Conduct thorough root cause analyses using structured methodologies (5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, etc.) to understand underlying issues
- Map, analyse and document end-to-end operational processes, identifying inefficiencies, risks, control gaps and improvement opportunities
- Design and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve customer outcomes
- Document RCA processes, findings and recommendations clearly and concisely
- Understand sampling strategies and how to create increased fidelity of outcome with lowest effort but maintaining statistical significance
Stakeholder Engagement & Change Delivery
- Build strong relationships with process owners and subject matter experts across different functions
- Articulate clear business cases using simple frameworks that make it easy to understand with the right level of technical detail for stakeholders
- Present clear recommendations and progress updates to leadership teams and stakeholders at all levels
- Monitor the effectiveness of changes and track key metrics to ensure that issues are resolved and do not reoccur
You’ll be a successful Senior Process Improvement Analyst here at OVO if you…
- Have proven experience using SQL and data visualisation tools (e.g Tableau/Looker Studio) to analyse operational performance and create compelling insights
- Have experience monitoring and analysing operational KPIs and qualitative data to drive performance improvements
- Can extract insights and build narratives with data, demonstrating ability to convey information adapted to different audiences
- Are proficient with root cause analysis methodologies (5 Whys, Fishbone Diagrams, etc.)
- Have a track record of working in an analytical role, with experience in continuous improvement
- Have experience or interest in leveraging AI tools for automation and insight generation
- Are able to work effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve shared goals
- Demonstrate excellent stakeholder management skills with experience influencing change through collaboration
- Are comfortable presenting findings and recommendations to senior leadership teams
- Can lead collaborative sessions such as meetings and workshops, communicating clearly and listening to others
- Six Sigma Green Belt with Lean certification

We’ll pay you between £45770 and £55000, depending on your specific skills and experience. If your expectations are a little different, have a chat with us! We keep our pay ranges broad on purpose to give us, and you, flexibility to match your experience to our zero carbon mission.
You’ll be eligible for an on-target bonus of 15%. We have one OVO bonus plan that focuses on the collective performance of our people to deliver our Plan Zero goal.
