Senior Procurement Manager – London Gateway SS17 - UK Ports & Terminals

Are you an experienced procurement leader with a background in heavy industry, ports, engineering or large-scale operations? DP World is seeking a Senior Procurement Manager to lead procurement activities across our UK Ports & Terminals business, supporting both London Gateway and Southampton. This is a high-impact leadership role where you will drive procurement excellence, implement strategic sourcing initiatives, and partner with senior stakeholders to deliver value across a complex and dynamic operational environment.

About the Role

As Senior Procurement Manager, you will act as the primary procurement business partner for UK Ports & Terminals, ensuring procurement strategies are effectively executed while supporting operational and commercial objectives. Leading a team of procurement professionals, you will manage supplier relationships, drive cost optimisation initiatives, mitigate supply chain risks, and support business growth through effective category management and stakeholder engagement. The role is site-based primarily at London Gateway, with regular travel to our Southampton port/ terminal. Less regular travel to our European businesses may be required on occasions. 

How You Will Contribute

  • Lead procurement activities across DP World's UK Ports & Terminals operations, supporting London Gateway and Southampton.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders to identify business needs and deliver effective procurement solutions.
  • Execute category strategies and develop local sourcing plans aligned to wider European procurement objectives.
  • Manage supplier relationships, contract performance, risk assessments and supplier development programmes.
  • Drive cost reduction, supplier consolidation and continuous improvement initiatives across direct and indirect spend categories.
  • Lead procurement negotiations to achieve best value and lowest total cost of ownership.
  • Provide leadership, coaching and development to procurement team members.
  • Monitor procurement performance, spend analysis and supplier compliance to support business objectives.
  • Collaborate with central category teams and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver innovative sourcing solutions.

What You Will Bring

  • Significant procurement experience, ideally within ports, heavy industry, engineering, oil & gas, chemical processing or plant machinery environments.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent senior-level procurement experience.
  • Proven ability to influence, challenge and engage senior stakeholders across complex organisations.
  • Strong supplier negotiation, contract management and category management experience.
  • Experience with procurement and inventory management systems such as Oracle Fusion and IBM Maximo is advantageous.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly between London Gateway and Southampton.
