Senior Procurement Manager

What You'll Be Responsible For

This is an influential role managing a portfolio of indirect categories, which may include marketing, IT, logistics, engineering and other business services, supporting significant third-party annual spend.

You will take end-to-end ownership of your assigned categories, developing and delivering practical, evidence-based sourcing plans aligned with business priorities. Through market engagement, tendering and effective commercial negotiation, you will identify opportunities to create value across total cost, service, quality, risk, innovation, sustainability and process efficiency.

You will manage supplier relationships, performance measures and improvement plans while working collaboratively with Finance, Logistics, IT, Engineering, Marketing, Legal and wider stakeholders. You will also use data, reporting and appropriate digital tools to improve spend visibility, support informed decision-making and progress opportunities from initial concept through to implementation and measurable benefit.

The role will be predominately based from our Leeds office (LS15), with regular travel to other Quorn sites and suppliers.

What Experience You'll Need To Have

  • Proven commercial procurement or category management background, ideally across indirect categories such as marketing, IT, logistics or engineering
  • Excellent commercial awareness, negotiation and supplier management capability, with experience analysing proposals, questioning assumptions and reaching balanced commercial agreements
  • A track record of taking ownership of opportunities and progressing them from initial idea through to implementation and measurable benefit, including value beyond rates and unit price
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence change across varied categories and priorities; experience within food manufacturing, FMCG, manufacturing or another operationally complex environment
  • Well-developed analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills, with experience using data, reports, dashboards or trackers to support decision-making and performance management
  • A passion for healthy, sustainable products which are better for our consumers and the planet – you don’t have to be a vegetarian to work for Quorn!

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
