Great procurement is about far more than managing suppliers, it's about building the partnerships, strategies and commercial foundations that enable a business to succeed.
At Aston Martin, every decision we make contributes to the creation of some of the world's most desirable luxury performance cars. Behind that success sits a Procurement team that plays a critical role in securing the right suppliers, delivering commercial value, managing risk and ensuring we remain competitive in an ever-evolving global marketplace.
We're looking for a Purchasing Manager to join our team at Gaydon on a fixed term contract until November 2027 and help drive the next chapter of Aston Martin's success.
This is an opportunity to lead and develop a procurement team while influencing key business decisions across the organisation. You'll operate at the heart of our Procurement function, working closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to develop sourcing strategies, identify opportunities, manage supplier performance and ensure Aston Martin continues to achieve the highest standards of quality, value and service.
As a Purchasing Manager, you'll be responsible for:
- Navigating a fast-paced and dynamic environment where commercial awareness, market insight and strategic thinking are essential.
- Analysing market trends, supplier capabilities and industry developments to ensure Aston Martin remains ahead of the curve.
- Identifying and mitigating supply chain risks.
- Developing robust supplier strategies and fostering strong relationships that support both short-term objectives and long-term business success.
- Driving commercial negotiations, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders and championing process improvements.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
