CSG / Procurement (Finance)

Full-time: 35 hours per week

Open-ended (permanent)

We are open to considering 2 x Part-Time Candidates at 20 hours per week each. Successful appointments of this nature will require identifying x2 suitable individuals.

About the Role

The University of Edinburgh is looking for a Senior Procurement Officer to join one of our 4 Category* teams:

  • Laboratories, Medical, Veterinary Medical (Labs)
  • Estates & Facilities (Estates)
  • Information Services (IS)
  • Professional & Campus Services (PCS)

The vacancies are currently in the IS and Estates teams. Whilst experience in these areas will offer an advantage, we encourage applications from all backgrounds.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the relevant Category Head, the successful candidate will be responsible for the tendering, award, and contract management of a range of procurement projects; as well as strategic initiatives stemming from market engagement and spend analyses. The post-holder will be expected to contribute to the University’s financial wellbeing and international research profile, by delivering cash savings and other cost efficiencies; and supporting the knowledge creation and transfer which lies at the heart of the University’s Strategy 2030.

The Opportunity

The post-holder will join a forward-thinking, ambitious, and supportive procurement team, already well advanced in a service transformation programme. As part of the wider Finance Directorate, we aim to deliver world-class services to the University’s academic teaching and research staff and professional services colleagues, in keeping with the institution’s Top-20 World Ranking.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
