Following approval of our 12mppa planning application, Bristol Airport has an unprecedented period of change ahead with capital investment of £400m+. We’re recruiting for a Senior Procurement Officer to join us here at Bristol Airport on this exciting journey.

The Senior Procurement Officer will support in the implementation of our companywide procurement strategy, providing advice and guidance to our teams, ensuring robust commercial contracts and delivering value for money.

Responsibilities

  • Working closely with the Head of Procurement, supporting the evolution and delivery of the Procurement Strategy, covering both OPEX and CAPEX procurement.
  • Support the organisation in procuring goods and services, ensuring there is company-wide awareness of required procurement standards and practices to ensure value for money.
  • Ensure procurement policies and practices are being complied with across the organisation, highlighting areas of concern and recommending remedial action/escalation as appropriate.
  • Lead Tender and Negotiation processes ensuring that selection criteria and processes are fair and objective, reflect our values and meet all legislative requirements and that value for money is delivered across all key procurement decisions.
  • Lead commercial negotiations and support management in ensuring value for money is achieved.
  • Provide professional advice and guidance to contract managers within the business on all areas of contract management ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures, Best Value and Best Practice.
  • Support key supplier relationships.

About you

  • Considerable hands-on procurement experience in a complex, high value procurement environment.
  • Experienced commercial negotiator with proven ability to shape and challenge contracts and manage new contracts/contractual changes with suppliers.
  • Good communication skills and an effective relationship builder, with ability to manage and influence multiple stakeholders at various organisational levels.
  • Understanding of, and commitment to, the principles of good governance whilst having the ability to flex around business needs as appropriate.
  • Experience of and commitment to operating as a business partner in a customer focused, client facing role.
  • Experience in implementing and maintaining industry standard procurement systems.
