Senior Procurement Transformation Lead - Senior Procurement Operation Manager

Leeds - Hybrid

A large corporate organisation growing their procurement function in Leeds.

Description

As a Senior Procurement Transformation Manager/ Procurement Operations Lead, you will join a specialist transformation team responsible for improving procurement operating models, enhancing stakeholder experiences and driving best-practice procurement capability across the end-to-end Source-to-Pay (S2P) lifecycle.

Working closely with Procurement, Finance, Technology and Operational stakeholders, you will assess current ways of working, identify opportunities for improvement, implement new procurement technologies and support the delivery of long-term transformation programmes.

This role offers a rare opportunity to influence both strategic direction and hands-on execution, helping to build a more efficient, technology-enabled and commercially effective procurement function.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement Transformation & Operating Model Improvement

  • Lead procurement transformation initiatives across the Source-to-Pay lifecycle.
  • Review and optimise procurement processes, policies and operating models.
  • Identify inefficiencies, risks and capability gaps.
  • Design and implement future-state procurement processes.
  • Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support the development and delivery of long-term procurement transformation roadmaps.

ProcureTech & Digital Enablement

  • Assess and optimise procurement technology landscapes.
  • Support procurement system implementation and enhancement projects.
  • Develop technology roadmaps that align with business and procurement objectives.
  • Drive adoption and utilisation of procurement platforms and digital tools.
  • Evaluate emerging ProcureTech solutions and market innovations.
  • Ensure technology supports improved compliance, governance and efficiency.

Governance, Risk & Compliance

  • Embed procurement governance into day-to-day operations.
  • Support the implementation of procurement policies and controls.
  • Improve stakeholder compliance with procurement processes.
  • Develop scalable governance frameworks and standards.
  • Reduce operational and supplier risk through improved controls and oversight.
  • Ensure procurement best practice is embedded throughout the organisation.

Change Management & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build strong relationships across Procurement, Finance, Technology and wider business functions.
  • Lead change management activities across transformation programmes.
  • Influence stakeholders to adopt new processes and ways of working.
  • Challenge existing approaches and drive continuous improvement.
  • Communicate transformation goals, progress and benefits effectively.
  • Support organisational readiness for technology and process change.

Programme & Project Delivery

  • Conduct current-state assessments and gap analysis exercises.
  • Support business case development and transformation planning.
  • Manage multiple workstreams, projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Deliver process redesign and implementation programmes.
  • Measure and track benefits realisation.
  • Ensure successful execution of strategic procurement initiatives.

Profile

A successful Senior Procurement Operations Category Lead - Transformation should have:

We're looking for an experienced Procurement Transformation professional with a passion for process improvement, technology enablement and organisational change.

Essential Experience

  • Experience within Procurement Transformation, Procurement Excellence or Procurement Operations.
  • Strong understanding of Source-to-Pay (S2P) and Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes.
  • Proven experience delivering procurement transformation programmes.
  • Experience redesigning and improving procurement processes.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and change management skills.
  • Experience implementing or optimising procurement technology platforms.
  • Knowledge of procurement governance, policy and compliance frameworks.
  • Experience operating within large, complex organisations.

Procurement Technology Experience

Experience with one or more of the following would be highly advantageous:

  • SAP
  • SAP Ariba
  • Coupa
  • Jaggaer
  • Oracle Procurement Cloud
  • Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) platforms
  • Supplier Risk Management (SRM) solutions
  • Spend Analytics tools
  • eSourcing and Supplier Management platforms
