Overview
Welcome to The Overlap!
Since launching in 2021, The Overlap has become one of the world’s most popular football and sports destinations with more than 38 million monthly views on YouTube, achieving 2.2 billion views across all platforms in 2025. The Overlap spans sports including football, rugby and cricket and is home to fan debates, exclusive interviews, and the smash-hit series Stick to Football. The long-form conversations with the biggest names in football, politics, business and world sport have set a new benchmark for authenticity, insight and storytelling.
As we continue to grow, we're looking for creative, collaborative people who are passionate about great storytelling and want to help shape the future of sports media by creating content that fans genuinely care about.
Your Role
This is an initial 12 month fixed-term contract.
We are looking for a highly experienced, editorially strong and football-savvy Senior Producer to join The Overlap.
This is a senior role for someone who can do more than deliver great content day to day. As Senior Producer, you will take a leading role in shaping output, driving editorial standards, and supporting the wider team to produce best-in-class content across platforms. You will be expected to bring strong creative judgement, make confident editorial decisions, and take ownership of production delivery in a fast-paced environment.
While a Producer is responsible for executing content effectively, the Senior Producer will help set the standard for how that content is developed, produced and delivered. You will play a key role in overseeing workflows, guiding more junior team members, working closely with senior stakeholders and talent, and helping ensure that The Overlap’s content remains distinctive, relevant and high quality.
The successful candidate will combine excellent editorial instincts with strong production experience, leadership capability and a deep understanding of football culture and audience behaviour.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
