About The Team

The Consumer Bank squad sits at the heart of one of SumUp's most exciting growth bets β€” scaling SumUp Pay, our consumer fintech product, to millions of active users across Europe. The team owns end-to-end UX and product design across the full user lifecycle, from onboarding and activation through to engagement features like Spaces, Open Banking insights, and budget tracking. This is a high-craft, high-autonomy environment where design isn't just execution β€” it's central to defining the problems worth solving, and your work will directly shape adoption, retention, and the future of SumUp's consumer offering.

What you'll do

  • Own end-to-end product design within the Consumer Bank squad, from discovery through to delivery, across the SumUp Pay mobile experience
  • Lead discovery by identifying user problems, framing opportunities, and shaping hypotheses alongside Product and Engineering
  • Design intuitive, high-quality mobile experiences in Figma that drive key metrics including activation, engagement, and retention
  • Validate solutions through prototyping, user research, and usability testing, using both qualitative and quantitative data to iterate
  • Contribute to the design system and help maintain consistency and quality across the product as SumUp scales its consumer offering

You'll be great for this role if…

  • Proven experience as a Senior Product Designer working on mobile-first consumer products, with a portfolio demonstrating end-to-end UX design and measurable impact
  • Strong discovery skills, including problem framing, hypothesis definition, user research, and insight synthesis
  • Excellent UX, interaction, and information design skills, with a high bar for quality and usability
  • Comfort working autonomously within cross-functional teams alongside Product Managers and Engineers, with solid understanding of technical constraints
  • Ability to leverage AI design tools (e.g. for ideation, prototyping, and research synthesis) to accelerate workflows and elevate the quality of outcomes
  • Proficiency in Figma and experience contributing to or evolving design systems

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer β€” it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet β€” that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
