Senior / Lead Product Designer London

Hybrid, 3 days/week in office | £80,000–£95,000 + 15% bonus + benefits

We're hiring on behalf of a well-established fintech business going through an exciting moment of change. After a period of running as separate regional teams across the UK, Ireland and Europe, design is now coming back together into a single, unified global team, and this role sits right at the heart of that.

The role

This is a player/coach position: roughly 60% hands-on design, 40% leadership and strategy. You'll lead a team of 3–5 designers while staying close to the work yourself, shaping both the craft and the culture as previously separate teams come together under one roof.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

You'll act as the connective tissue across the design function, bringing consistency, shared standards, and a stronger sense of team to a group that's spent the last couple of years working independently.

What you'll be doing

  • Leading and mentoring a small team of designers, while remaining hands-on with your own projects
  • Working across the full product lifecycle rather than a single narrow area
  • Balancing UX and UI work evenly, with strong app design experience alongside web
  • Helping unify design standards, patterns and ways of working across a newly consolidated team

What we're looking for

  • Senior/Lead-level product designer with genuine breadth across products or pillars
  • Startup or fast-paced experience, comfortable moving quickly with less process
  • Strong UI craft, this role leans visual and interaction-design heavy, not just UX/research
  • Solid app design experience, at least 50/50 split with web
  • A portfolio that tells a story, we want to see your thinking and process, not just headline metrics
  • Real player/coach experience: you've led people as well as done the work yourself
