Senior Product Designer
Location - Home based (occasional travel to London)
Length - Initial Fixed Term 6 months
Salary - considering options up to £80k (pro rata'd for 6 month period)
About the opportunity
Join a Global Design Team within International Wealth and Premier Banking (IWPB) on a fixed-term contract. You’ll help create a best-in-class onboarding experience for our retail customers.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior/lead Product Designer to define best in class global experiences that will scale across markets, within a team that focusses on cutting edge experiences and the highest priorities of the bank.
In this role, you’ll work collaboratively with our Digital Propositions team to design intuitive, user-centred, and visually engaging experiences, at the intersection of creativity and strategy.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll collaborate closely with Design Leads, Service Designers, fellow team members and stakeholders across the wider organisation.
You will have the opportunity to:
- Reimagine the customer onboarding experience for the bank
- Crystalise proof of concept opportunity areas into high fidelity, end to end design.
- Apply UX best practices and emerging design direction to create experience blueprints for design delivery teams to scale from.
- Design best in class experiences that make a difference to millions of customer’s lives across our priority markets.
What you’ll bring

Key responsibilities
- User-centred design thinking: empathise with users, solve problems from the customer perspective, conduct research to gather insights (qualitative and usability testing)
- Wireframing & prototyping: able to quickly translate ideas into wireframes and high-fidelity prototypes
- Visual design: strong grasp of all visual elements, including motion, micro-interaction, and attention to visual hierarchy
- Interactive design: can create intuitive experiences that make it easy for customers to interact
- Information architecture: ability to structure and organise content effectively with clear content hierarchy
- Communication: strong written and verbal communication and ability to explain design decisions
- Curiosity: intellectually curious and always looking to improve the customer experience
- Deliver end-to-end design work including sketches, wireframes, mock-ups, interactive prototypes, and final visual designs
- Collaborate across markets to understand cultural nuances and regulatory requirements that impact user experience
- Advocate for design excellence, communicate and present design concepts clearly and effectively to stakeholders, influencing strategic decisions with your expertise and passion for design
- Conduct or collaborate on user journey mapping, usability testing, and interface audits
- Participate in design critiques and feedback sessions to iterate and improve design outcomes
- Communicate design rationale and decision-making clearly to stakeholders and peers
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, risk management, and accessibility standards
- Elevate design quality, establish and maintain a world-class quality bar for UI design, ensuring that every product we deliver is both visually striking and functionally seamless

Functional knowledge
- Experience in UX and UI design, preferably in a fast-paced or large-scale environment.
- Experience with UX writing and crafting clear, user-centered copy as part of the design process
- Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating responsive and mobile-first design and showing how those designs have created meaningful impact or delivered value to users or the business.
- Familiarity with user journey mapping, UI/UX research, and workflow design.
- Working knowledge of accessibility principles and how to implement them.
- Experience collaborating in Agile or cross-functional teams.
- Experience in banking, wealth or premium banking products.
