Senior Product Designer | Kimchi
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Product Designer | Kimchi based in United Kingdom.
This is an opportunity to join a small, senior design team shaping a fast-moving B2B platform built for engineers and technical teams working with AI-assisted software development. You will own complex product problems across coding agents, developer tooling, desktop experiences, and infrastructure and spend management interfaces. The role combines end-to-end product design, independent user research, product strategy, and hands-on prototyping. You will work closely with engineers and other designers, bringing a strong point of view while navigating ambiguity and technical constraints. AI-assisted development is an important part of the workflow, with opportunities to prototype directly in code rather than relying solely on traditional design tools. In a remote-first international environment, your work will directly influence how technical teams build, manage, and scale AI-powered development workflows.
Accountabilities
- Own product problems end-to-end across CLI, desktop applications, inference and spend consoles, and developer tooling, from initial research through shipped designs and measurable outcomes.
- Lead user research independently by planning studies, conducting research, synthesizing findings, and translating insights into recommendations for product direction.
- Prototype directly in code when appropriate, using AI-assisted development workflows to test and validate ideas within the product.
- Contribute a clear point of view to product strategy discussions, supported by product usage, research evidence, competitive awareness, and an understanding of user needs.
- Collaborate with engineers and other designers to develop solutions that balance user experience, technical constraints, architecture, and business objectives.
- Participate in cross-team design reviews to identify overlap, maintain consistency, raise the quality bar, and stay aligned with broader product initiatives.
- Monitor design debt within your area and advocate for improvements when usability risks, technical constraints, or user feedback make them a priority.
- Communicate design decisions and research findings clearly through concise documentation and effective collaboration across a distributed organization.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Requirements
- Senior-level product design experience demonstrated through a strong portfolio or case studies focused on developer tools, AI/LLM products, coding agents, or other technical and data-heavy SaaS platforms.
- Proven ability to own user research end-to-end and use research findings to influence product direction rather than simply contributing to studies led by others.
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development workflows such as Claude Code, Cursor, or similar tools, combined with genuine interest in working directly with code and the product.
- Strong ability to form, communicate, and defend design decisions in ambiguous environments without relying on predefined processes.
- Experience designing for technical or engineering-focused users, with the confidence to discuss APIs, architecture, system constraints, and technical trade-offs with engineers.
- Strong asynchronous communication skills, including the ability to create concise documentation and make compelling cases through writing.
- Experience working independently across the full product design lifecycle, from research and discovery through prototyping, delivery, and measuring outcomes.
- Nice to have: experience designing CLI or terminal-based interfaces, familiarity with desktop applications, or experience presenting design and research findings to executive stakeholders.
- Strong curiosity, ownership, and willingness to work hands-on in a fast-moving product environment.
Benefits
- Competitive salary of €4,500–€7,000 gross per month, depending on experience.
- Flexible, remote-first working environment.
- Equity options.

- 10% of work time dedicated to personal projects or self-improvement.
- Learning and development budget covering professional and personal development, including international conferences and courses.
- Annual hackathon focused on innovation and team collaboration.
- Team-building budget and company events.
- Equipment budget to support an effective remote workspace.
- Extra days off to support work-life balance.
- Opportunity to work with a global team of cloud and technology specialists on AI-powered developer products.
