Senior Product Designer
In Brief
We are a growing health-tech company running a telemedicine platform and a portfolio of technology-enabled clinical services for the NHS. Our products support clinicians and patients by improving access to specialist advice and reducing pressure on frontline services.
As we continue to scale, we are looking for a Senior Product Designer responsible for establishing our design practice and ensuring user needs are at the heart of everything we build.
Contract type: Full-time, Permanent
Hours of work: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hrs / week (08:00-16:30 or 08:30-17:00 or 09:00-17:30) with potential flexible working support within these bands
Place of work: Remote with 3-4 times per month travel to Oxford
Salary: Competitive market salary reflective of its seniority and impact
The Role
You will work across the full breadth of design, from research and discovery through to interaction design and prototyping, helping the team get closer to clinicians and patients, make better-informed decisions, and continuously raise the quality of our products. You will be equally comfortable running discovery alongside delivery - operating in a lean, agile environment where insight and iteration go hand in hand, rather than design being resolved upfront.
You will collaborate closely with product, development, and account management teams to ensure we are building products that work for NHS clinicians and patients in real-world workflows.
This role operates at a senior level, reporting to the Head of Product.
Your Mission
Over the next 6-12 months you will, amongst other activities:
- Define the design approach that guides how we build products across our portfolio
- Develop a vision prototype that gives stakeholders a clear, tangible sense of where our products are heading
- Lead user research and discovery to uncover clinician and patient needs
- Build and mentor design and research capability across the product team
- Work with product managers and developers to ensure our products are intuitive, accessible, and clinically safe
- Drive a culture of user-centred design thinking across the organization
- Identify opportunities to apply emerging design practices and technologies to improve usability and clinical outcomes
Key Responsibilities
Research & Discovery
- In collaboration with Product Managers, plan and conduct user research with clinicians, patients, and NHS stakeholders to surface real workflow needs and pain points
- Synthesise findings into clear, actionable insights that directly inform product decisions and roadmap priorities
- Define and evolve the team approach to discovery, ensuring it is rigorous, efficient, and repeatable
- Champion evidence-based decision making across product and development
Design approach & Process
- Own the design process end-to-end, from early-stage concepts through to high-fidelity prototypes ready for development
- Build and maintain a design system that creates consistency and coherence across our product portfolio, leveraging it to improve existing products and align future ones
- Ensure all design work meets NHS accessibility standards, clinical safety requirements, and relevant regulatory obligations
- Balance speed and quality in a regulated environment, making sound trade-offs without compromising user experience

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
