About Sahaj
Sahaj Software is an artisanal software engineering, data and AI consultancy. We partner with organisations to solve complex business and technology problems through purpose-built products, platforms and data-led services.
Our teams are hands-on, collaborative and close to delivery. We work directly with clients, move in short feedback cycles and care deeply about craft, ownership and practical outcomes.
The Role
We are looking for someone who is curious about the domain, how the process works, where people struggle, and what is worth solving. From there, you'll shape and build the right solution using technology.
This is an opportunity to redefine the role of design for a world experiencing constant AI disruption. A world where human judgement, empathy, systems thinking, and creativity become the real differentiators, while AI accelerates the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
You will work closely with senior client stakeholders, product owners, engineers and data scientists to co-own the product vision and help them craft the path forward. Within the team, you will drive ambiguity towards real, valuable outcomes through design.
You will own and shape the product direction, challenge weak assumptions and stay close to implementation. You will leverage your collective experience as a design practitioner in this entire journey for driving impact on the client side. You will craft ‘new ways of working‘ from a design perspective with the influx of AI.
We are not looking for someone whose primary focus is making requirements turned into artefacts, make things look polished or pixel-perfect.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
Graduate Consultant — 2026 Scheme
Why you're a good match
StrongYour economics background and your summer at a regional bank line up with what PwC looks for on the consulting scheme. Applications close in four weeks.
See breakdownIt searches the market for you
Every day your agent scans the market matching roles against what actually matters to you, not just keywords on a CV.
Why you're a good match
You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
The Expectation
You're comfortable across the full design lifecycle, but you're exceptional at the parts that make it land: sharp problem framing, design that ships, and AI-accelerated craft.
Consulting with Delivery in mind
Challenging the ask and ideating intervention that matters, and seeing them through.
- Turn ambiguous client asks into well-framed problems, prioritised opportunities and practical delivery plans.
- Challenge assumptions, agreed scope and propose solutions constructively, using evidence and arguments to help clients choose the new scope.
- Pitch, consult and negotiate design decisions for faster iterations and decisioning.
- Stay with the problem, be the custodian for the north-star throughout delivery.
- Constantly reframe design decisions as new constraints and evidence emerge.
Design that ships
Owning the work from framed problems to live product.
- Own design across the lifecycle: discovery, concept, design, build, launch and iteration.
- Create artefacts precise enough to build from, including flows, wireframes, prototypes.
- Design for production reality: complex workflows, edge cases, data and system constraints.
- Work inside the engineering cadence with technologists, data specialists and product owners, balancing user value, business impact, technical feasibility and delivery pace.
- Measure what changed after launch and iterate using product analytics, user conversations and iterate.
AI-accelerated craft
Using AI to design better, and designing better AI native products.

Get help with your application
Your very own career expert that helps elevate your application to the next level.
- Use AI across research, synthesis, ideation and prototyping to compress design cycles.
- Apply judgment to AI output: know when it's good enough, and when it isn't.
- Spot where AI and automation genuinely move user and business outcomes, and where they don't.
- Design AI-enabled experiences that handle model behaviour, uncertainty, failure states beyond screens from user experience perspective.
The Experience
You'll also move comfortably across your wider design practice and bring its collective strength as the work needs them:
- Experience in B2B - Enterprise Platforms, SaaS products, Data products or AI-native products.
- Apply service-design and systems thinking across complex processes, teams and technology.
- Led discoveries by planning and conducting research, including stakeholder and user interviews, workflow analysis and conceptualising directions.
- Design and facilitate workshops that align client and delivery teams and get decisions made.
- Shape interaction design and information architecture for complex products.
- Work with Design systems and alongside AI tooling from the start.
- Contribute to Sahaj's product-design capability by crafting new ways of working, building supporting case studies and client-facing thought leadership.
