About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Senior Product Designer to help shape the future of our pensions and retirement products. You will play a key role in designing intuitive, accessible, and engaging experiences that help customers make informed decisions about their financial future.
Working closely with Product Managers, Engineers, Researchers, Content Designers, Compliance, and Business stakeholders, you will lead end-to-end design initiatives across our pensions ecosystem, transforming complex regulatory and financial requirements into simple, user-centred solutions.
This is an opportunity to influence product strategy, drive design excellence, and improve outcomes for customers navigating retirement planning, pension consolidation, investments, and long-term financial wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end design process from discovery through to delivery and optimisation.
- Design customer journeys, service experiences, and digital products across pensions and retirement propositions.
- Translate complex financial, regulatory, and operational requirements into simple and engaging user experiences.
- Conduct and synthesise user research to uncover customer needs, behaviours, and pain points.
- Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI designs.
- Work collaboratively with Product Managers, Engineers, Researchers, and stakeholders to define product strategy and roadmap priorities.
- Champion data-informed and evidence-based design decisions.
- Drive accessibility and inclusive design practices, ensuring products meet WCAG standards.
- Contribute to and evolve design systems, ensuring consistency and scalability across products.
- Mentor and support other designers, contributing to a strong design culture and raising the quality bar across the team.

What You'll Bring
Essential Experience
- Significant experience as a Product Designer, UX Designer, or Digital Product Designer.
- Experience designing complex financial services products, ideally within pensions, retirement, investments, wealth management, or insurance.
- Strong understanding of user-centred design methodologies and service design principles.
- Proven ability to simplify complex information and processes into clear customer experiences.
- Experience working within regulated environments.
- Strong visual and interaction design skills with a portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product thinking.
- Expertise in Figma and modern prototyping tools.
- Experience working closely with cross-functional product squads in Agile environments.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
Desirable Experience

- Deep knowledge of UK pensions products including workplace pensions, SIPPs, pension transfers, drawdown, retirement planning, or pension consolidation.
- Experience designing customer-facing journeys for pension providers, wealth platforms, fintechs, or insurers.
- Understanding of FCA regulations and Consumer Duty principles.
- Experience with behavioural design and helping customers make complex financial decisions.
- Experience building and maintaining design systems.
