About the Role
As the Senior Product Designer, you’ll oversee every stage of the design process—from initial concept to implementation—while maintaining the highest possible standards. Working closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and Designers, you’ll deliver cutting-edge user experiences aligning with Zilch’s bold vision.
You won’t just perform exceptional design work—you’ll elevate the entire team’s practices to ensure consistency, strategic thinking, and craftsmanship.
Responsibilities

Full-cycle design ownership
- Lead from user research through to prototyping, testing, and launch, ensuring flawless execution.
- Define clear user journeys, create prototypes, and measure the success of product launches.

Design management & Leadership
- Coach and mentor your peers, holding studio critique sessions to refine and strengthen design output.
- Enforce high standards with consistency across projects, fostering a culture of excellence.
- Work alongside the Head of Product Design and Product Managers to ensure alignment on goals, priorities, and feedback.

User experience & effectiveness
- Conduct user research using qualitative and quantitative methods to validate designs.
- Identify key performance metrics and analyse product experiments for data-driven improvements.
- Advocate for users, translating research insights into intuitive and engaging experiences.

System & scalability
- Support the organisation’s design system, ensuring it remains scalable, efficient, and adaptable.
- Document pattern libraries and style guides, updating them as the business evolves.

Post-launch analysis & innovation
- Evaluate product performance post-release, extract learnings, and suggest future iterations or directions.
Requirements

Cross-functional expertise
- Proven track record in designing consumer-facing products within a matrix team. Collaboration with products, researchers, engineers, and creatives is essential.

Problem-solving mindset
- You relish tackling complex challenges and prioritise solving the right problem—not just the quick one.
- Likeable obsession with attention to detail (can spot a pixel misalignment from a stock’s displays).

Strategic leadership in design.
- Understand product thinking at every level from micro-interactions to macro-strategy.
- Communicate complex ideas clearly, building consensus across teams with confidence.

Collaboration & storytelling
- Blend well with interdisciplinary teams, integrating insights from research, content, and engineering.
- Mastery of Design systems and maintaining them effectively.
