Design the experiences that help people understand what to eat, and why, to improve their gut health.

ZOE turns world-leading gut health science into an app people use every day. As a Senior Product Designer you'll own some of the key surfaces, taking loosely defined problems and exploring widely before narrowing in on something worth building. We're looking for real creative range, strong product judgement and exceptional craft — and someone who knows when to keep pushing and when to ship.

🚀 About ZOE

ZOE is a gut health science company that turns world-leading science into everyday gut-health products. The ZOE app helps you understand what you eat and how it affects your body — so you can build healthier habits and improve your gut health over time. It's like having a personal nutrition coach in your pocket!

👥 About the team

You'll join our Product Design team on a 3-6 month Fixed Term Contract or Temp-to-Perm basis. We're a small, multi-disciplinary group of Product, Content and Motion Designers, and UX Researchers who care deeply about solving user problems, creating joyful experiences, and keeping a high bar for craft. We challenge each other, learn together, and believe great work should be fun.

⚙️ About the role

You’ll be embedded in our Core Experience team, partnering with Product, Engineering and Data Analytics to own meaningful areas of the ZOE app end-to-end, from ambiguous problem to shipped experience.

This is a senior individual contributor role. You’ll own complex, strategically important work with little day-to-day direction, and be trusted to set the direction within your areas and to bring the team with you.

You’ll work across both big and small bets: improving existing journeys, but also taking loosely defined problems and generating a wide range of concepts and directions before narrowing in. We’re looking for someone genuinely creative — who can move quickly when the problem is clear, and open it right up when it isn’t. This is not a role for someone who only wants to optimise.

We take a scientific approach, so much of what we ship gets A/B tested. You’ll need strong design convictions, while being willing to let evidence change your mind.

🎯 What You’ll Be Doing

Shape the right solution

  • Turn loosely defined problems into clear, compelling product experiences.
  • Explore genuinely different directions before converging, and challenge the initial hypothesis when needed.
  • Move comfortably between big bets and small experiments, knowing when to explore broadly and when to make a focused improvement quickly.
  • Bring strong product judgement, grounded in a real understanding of our users, our science and the wider market: know what matters, make sensible trade-offs, and know when to keep exploring versus move forward.
  • Work with Product and Data Analytics to shape A/B tests, understand what moved the needle and use the results to decide what happens next.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Create exceptional app experiences

  • Design high-quality native experiences for iOS and Android, with strong visual and interaction craft.
  • Translate complex behavioural and scientific concepts into experiences that feel simple, engaging and motivating.
  • Make data feel rewarding and valuable rather than clinical — scores, trends and states understood at a glance, so people feel encouraged, not judged.
  • Prototype to test ideas and answer questions, not just present solutions.
  • Work closely with engineers through implementation, keeping the experience coherent with patterns across the rest of the app and contributing to our Design System.

Own work through to impact

  • Create momentum and keep work moving: set clear expectations with your team and stakeholders, and keep people informed as things progress.
  • Make your thinking easy to follow — explain complex problems and design decisions so the wider team can make good calls, and bring people with you rather than presenting at them.
  • Run usability testing and turn findings into clear recommendations, partnering with UX Research when needed.
  • Understand how your work performs after launch and use what you learn to improve it.
  • Raise the bar around you: set the standard through your own work, share what you learn, and help improve how we work as a team.

🧠 What You’ll Bring

  • Have strong end-to-end consumer native app work in your portfolio, and can talk honestly about it — the thinking, the trade-offs, what you cut and what you’d do differently.
  • Are genuinely creative — you generate real range, not variations on one idea.
  • Are energised by ambiguity and comfortable questioning the idea you were handed.
  • Have experience designing for habit or behaviour change.
  • Think in user problems, flows and behaviours rather than screens.
  • Have strong product judgement and can balance user needs, business goals, evidence and craft.
  • Communicate with clarity and bring people with you — your thinking is easy to follow, challenge and build on.
  • Can independently take work from an ambiguous starting point through to a high-quality shipped experience.
  • Are low-ego, pragmatic and take ownership through to the end.
  • Use AI tools where they genuinely make you better or faster, and know where they don’t.
