About the Job
Senior Product Engineer
Location: Remote
Engagement Type: Hourly Contract
Compensation: $80–$150/hour
About the Opportunity
This opportunity is for experienced UI/UX and Product Designers interested in contributing to advanced AI research and evaluation projects. Rather than creating design deliverables yourself, you will help define what exceptional design work looks like by developing evaluation criteria and assessing AI-generated and human-created design outputs.
Your expertise will help improve how next-generation AI systems understand, evaluate, and produce real-world digital product design work.
Ideal Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional experience in Product Design, UI/UX Design, or Design Systems.
- Background at leading digital-product companies, product design teams, UX agencies, e-commerce platforms, or marketplace businesses.
- Experience across one or more areas including Product Design, UI Design, UX Design, Design Systems, UX Writing, Content Design, or Digital Product Analysis.
- Deep expertise in interaction design, visual design, responsive layouts, user flows, prototyping, and design-to-development handoff.
- Strong proficiency with Figma and modern design workflows.
- Exceptional written communication and design critique skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to apply consistent evaluation standards.
- Experience with AI training, evaluation, or human-feedback projects is a plus.

Responsibilities
- Design task-specific grading criteria for real-world digital product and UX deliverables.
- Evaluate AI-generated and human-created design work using structured evaluation frameworks.
- Provide detailed written feedback and scoring justifications for every evaluation.
- Assess design systems, component libraries, responsive interfaces, dashboards, customer portals, and end-to-end product experiences.
- Apply consistent, evidence-based judgment to ensure evaluations are accurate, reproducible, and defensible.
- Collaborate with reviewers and stakeholders to refine evaluation standards and processes.
- Incorporate structured feedback and continuously improve scoring quality.
- Contribute to improving AI systems' understanding of design quality, usability, and user experience.

Compensation
- Competitive compensation of $80–$150/hour.
