Senior Product Engineer
Senior Product Engineer – Eaton Bedhampton Plant
The Eaton Bedhampton plant (35 mins from Titchfield), with 140+ headcount across its aerospace division, plays a critical role in the organisation. The core business involves the assembly and testing of hydraulic parts for aeroplane motors and pumps, serving key customers including Airbus, Collins, Leonardo, Moog, and Boeing.
About the Role
We require a Senior Product Engineer to lead projects through the full development lifecycle, ensuring our electro-mechanical hydraulic components meet rigorous aerospace standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design & development: Evolve current hydraulic pump/motor designs using 3D CAD, leading the full lifecycle of electro-mechanical components.
- Programme oversight: Ensure gated Engineering activities are completed within agreed review timeframes.
- Technical documentation: Produce, review, or authorise technical data packs, design drawings, and BOMs, ensuring compliance with standards and specifications.
- Presentations & reviews: Generate technical briefings for internal/external design reviews, leading both technical meetings and project updates.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Work with manufacturing, site operations, and remote teams to deliver on time-sensitive milestones.
- Failure analysis & cost initiatives: Lead product failure investigations, mentor cost-out efforts, and promote ELSS (Enhanced Learning Systems & Solutions) practices.
- Documentation management: Maintain a well-organised project filing system and support ELSS-aligned workflows.

Technical & Leadership Requirements
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Engineering degree (BEng, BSc) or equivalent with 4+ years in a relevant field.
- Proven experience in aerospace or high-technology engineering.
- Ability to communicate at all levels (internal/external) and manage customer expectations.
- Expertise in technical reviews, problem-solving, and project delivery with tight deadlines.

Key Competencies
✔ Strong skills in 3D CAD (Pro/Engineer preferred) and ANSI standards drafting. ✔ Familiarity with FE analysis (FEA/CFD) is advantageous. ✔ Knowledge of rotating machinery design methodologies.
